Located on the grounds of Gungahlin Cemetery, the Stringybark Room is available for hire for your memorial service and is a quiet space where families and friends can gather prior to or after a funeral, burial or cremation.
Venue hire
Full day hire of the Stringybark Room includes use of the facility from 7:30 am until 6:00 pm unless other arrangements have been made prior to the event and includes access to the facility for all setup and takedown requirements. Included in the hire fee is full use of the venue, audio visual equipment and access to the rubbish facilities and a general clean after your event.

As for all ACT Government premises, smoking is not permitted inside the room or within fifteen (15) metres of the building.
There is a quiet lounge available for the use of families with children.
Any additional equipment will need to be arranged by you but our helpful team can explain what equipment is already available when you come for a tour.
There is heating and cooling throughout.
The room has a kitchenette which includes a fridge, microwave, urn and bench areas.
Four fold-down tables and 60 individual chairs supplied however you can make arrangements to supply your own furniture if required, please discuss with our team when you visit.
A gas BBQ is available on request and is to be operated by responsible adults only.
No animals except service dogs are permitted in the facility unless prior arrangement has been made.
Marquees (supplied by the customer) may be erected with prior approval in the courtyard and in the lawn area at the rear of the building.
