Honouring and celebrating life at Canberra Memorial Parks

At Canberra Memorial Parks, we honour and celebrate life.

When a loved one passes away, we want to honour and celebrate their life in a way that reflects how they lived and how you want to remember them. Canberra Memorial Parks is here to help you during this time of grief and support you to both fulfil and plan end of life arrangements with care and consideration.

We are here for grieving family and friends who need assistance in navigating the planning of a cremation or burial service. With a wide range of facilities at our Gungahlin, Hall and Woden cemeteries, you can honour your loved one with their wishes in mind.

How do I honour their life with religious and/or cultural traditions?

In cultures around the world the passing of a loved one is memorialised in different ways. Canberra Memorial Parks recognises and respects the diversity of the Canberra community which is why our facilities cater to a wide variety of religious traditions offering an empathetic service at a difficult time.

Gungahlin Cemetery’s newest facility consists of a peaceful viewing room for cremations, where Buddhists, Sikhs and Jain families can honour their traditional practice of viewing the coffin as it enters the cremator. Families may also hire the viewing room to say their final goodbyes to their loved one before cremation.

Across the Gungahlin, Hall and Woden grounds, we have dedicated religious and cultural burial areas for Islamic, Jewish, Orthodox, Aboriginal and Christian communities, and an enclosed mausoleum at the Woden Cemetery.

Where can my loved one be honoured in the ACT?
