Over achiever doesn’t even begin to describe this multi award winner! This staff shout out goes to Michelle Dariol, Crematorium Operator from Canberra Memorial Parks.
Michelle was recently the recipient of the Cemeteries and Crematoria Association of NSW Rising Star Award. The Award acknowledges industry excellence, improvement, dedication and knowledge sharing. Michelle was nominated for her ‘can do attitude’, hard work and dedication in standing up Gungahlin Crematorium operations since its inception 12 months ago. Michelle has worked hard in developing procedures to provide the utmost service and care to Canberrans during a difficult time. Alongside her colleague Mick, she has gone above and beyond to offer premium services for families including a first-class family viewing lounge which helps cater to Canberra’s diverse community.
The award entitles Michelle to visit any cemetery facility in the country and Michelle will be visiting a new crematorium in South Australia to share ideas and information.
Not stopping at one award, Michelle was Highly Commended for the category of Respect in the recent ACT Public Service Awards for Excellence. Director- General, Alison Playford, visited Michelle at Gungahlin Cemetery and Crematorium to present her with her Award and offer her congratulations.
